We take great pride in the maintenance and treatment of our water (salt solution). The solution is filtered through an industry leading filtration system that cycles the solution throughout the system 7-8 times during the 30 minute process. During this time, it is treated by a variety of different ways; mechanical, chemical and molecular.
The Micron Filtration System`s custom X-100 filter is able to filter particles from the water to 1 micron in size and is now both NSF 50 and FDA compliant for drinking water (Class 1 Filtration). Standard pool and spa filter cartridges only filter to 20-30 microns and require regular cleaning. This is the first ever NSF 50 filtration unit that uses the 1 micron bag filters exclusive to our pods (Superior Float Tanks).
Ozone is injected automatically into the system for 15 minutes during each filtration cycle. Ozone is a powerful oxidizer, destroying dangerous organisms and pathogens including chlorine resistant contaminants.
During the whole filtration cycle (30 minutes), two UV-C lamps are used to help sterilize the solution. UV-C is a clean technology. The only active disinfectant is rays of light. No additional chemicals, gases or oxidants are added to the solution. Using natural rays of light, UV-C prevents the spread of microorganisms, harmful bacteria, viruses, cysts and protozoa.
When germicidal UV light (UV-C) and ozone react the result is the production of hydroxyl radicals. This reaction is known as the Advanced Oxidation Process, or AOP. Hydroxyl radicals (OH-) are the most powerful oxidation agents available, quickly destroying bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water. Hydroxyl radicals also destroy chlorine and bromine resistant microorganisms, such as Cryptosporidium Parvum, Giardia and E.Coli.
We use 35% Hydrogen Peroxide (food grade) to help oxidize our solution throughout the week. It is added at the beginning and end of every day. Additionally, we add a small amount of Bromine during our weekly maintenance days.
