Dr. Julia Christensen is passionate about empowering others to discover strategies for self-care, self-awareness, and expanded consciousness through a healthy balance of body, mind and spirit. To achieve this, she utilizes the principles of naturopathic medicine and its powerful modalities. In her practice she utilizes predominantly herbal medicine, counselling, acupuncture, nutrition, and treating the whole person.
Dr. Christensen focuses on women’s health, family medicine, as well as musculoskeletal injuries and sports medicine. During her clinical internship she had the opportunity to do a rotation at the Family Medicine Clinic in Victoria where she provided complimentary naturopathic care to young, low-income families under the supervision of Dr. Kristin Schnurr. Additionally, Dr. Christensen is trained in the use of bio-identical hormones, intravenous therapy, and has obtained prescriptive authority.
Dr. Christensen has been involved in the health and wellness industry for over fifteen years. She obtained an undergraduate degree with honours in Kinesiology, worked as a personal trainer and gathered experience in cardiac rehabilitation. She is a published author in the Journal of Experimental Physiology from work during her graduate honour’s thesis.
Dr. Christensen is constantly striving for self-evolution by engaging in a lifestyle that includes yoga, meditation, whole foods, nature, plant medicine, flotation therapy, highland dancing, supportive community, and lots of love.
